Professor Shang-Te Danny Hsu
Danny Hsu is a Research Fellow and Deputy Director of the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Bijvoet Center for Biomolecular Research at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. During his postdoctoral research with Chris Dobson at the University of Cambridge, UK, he pioneered the study of co-translational folding on the ribosome by NMR spectroscopy. Danny’s current research focuses on the structures and folding of topologically knotted proteins, structure-function activities of post-translationally modified proteins, including the highly glycosylated spike protein of SARS-CoV-2, and proteasomal recognition of atypically ubiquitinated substrates.
